Emergency squad reports 152 December responses; new ambulance still out of service

Shawna Tabert, representing the Washington Emergency Squad, reported that the service logged 152 responses in December 2025: 104 medical calls, 37 traumas and 11 standbys. Tabert said the squad expects call volume to grow and is planning fundraising work with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and exploring a business-advertising program.
Tabert also reported problems with a recently purchased ambulance that "has not been able to be used since August," and said the unit "is going back to where they purchased it and also getting an attorney involved." The squad is pursuing remedies with the vendor while continuing day-to-day operations, she said.
