During the Sept. 22 meeting, Trustee John Bradley moved to approve the district's list of campus library book purchases with the exception of 41 titles. Trustee Raymond Patterson offered an amendment to suspend approval of the library purchase item until the October meeting to permit additional review; Trustee John Bradley seconded the amendment. The board approved the amendment to suspend the purchase, 6-0, effectively delaying purchase of the 41 disputed titles until trustees can examine them further.
The minutes do not list the 41 titles, vendors, or dollar amounts for the proposed purchases. The board directed campus libraries to review the set-aside titles and report back at the next meeting, where trustees will revisit the item for potential approval or further revision.
