The White Settlement Independent School District Board of Trustees met Sept. 22 and approved routine business, several separate agenda items and personnel actions. Trustee Amanda Sanchez moved and Trustee John Morton seconded approval of the consent agenda, which included minutes from Aug. 18, 2025, monthly expenditures for August, amended budgets, memoranda of understanding with the YMCA for the Blue Haze After School Program and with JJAEP, and the purchase of high school Spanish curriculum; the motion carried 6-0. Following closed-session deliberations, Trustee John Morton moved and Trustee Krystal Arnold seconded approval of three appointments (Debora Bravo Rodriguez, Ana Contreras and Justin Costanzo) and the resignations of Melissa “Jill” Acklen, Skyler Cato and Pablo Pineda; that motion also carried 6-0.
The board voted to delay one separate item — a list of campus library books — after debate about 41 specific titles (see separate article). The meeting adjourned at 8:33 p.m.
