Elmwood Park approves demolition contract for 1613 N. 76th Ave; parking lot planned

Village Manager Paul Volpe told the board the administration will seek approval for a construction management contract with Burke, LLC to demolish 1613 N. 76th Ave. The manager's memo listed a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of $67,815 for demolition and salvage work.
Volpe said once demolition is complete the Village will proceed to design and construct a public parking lot at that location to address local parking needs. The demolition contract and related ordnance were placed on the consent agenda and approved in the unanimous vote.
Further design, procurement and construction will be scheduled following demolition; the packet did not include a construction timeline for the parking lot beyond the demolition GMP.
