The city accepted $15,017.26 from Hartford Insurance to settle property damage to a City EMS vehicle related to an incident on Feb. 17, 2025; it authorized issuance of a duplicate tax sale certificate at the request of Mas Capital, LLC; and it approved workers'‑compromise payouts including a $21,000 Section 20 settlement for Eric Martins and a $26,370 settlement for Veronica Salluca. The council also authorized a $125,000 settlement in the civil case Javier Vera Lopez v. City of Elizabeth. In a related matter, the council authorized acceptance of a $3,333 lien payment proposal arising from a prior workers' compensation claim for Cheryl Abdur‑Rahman.
Each settlement resolution was adopted with recorded votes as listed in the minutes and accompanied by certificate numbers and account charges on file in the City Clerk's office, per the clerk's reading.
