The Wharton ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously May 26 to approve a resolution authorizing the issuance, sale and delivery of Wharton ISD Maintenance Tax Notes, Series 2026. The financing is intended to fund the board-approved Schneider facility improvement contract.
Business Office Manager Cheryl Hooper introduced financing options and invited Live Oak advisor Joey Dawson and WISD Project Manager Mr. Lanier to brief the trustees on the proposed funding plan. Garland Novosad moved to approve the resolution; Philip Henderson seconded and the motion passed 6–0. Trustees did not discuss alternative financing at length during the public portion of the meeting.
