Resident raises traffic and sidewalk concerns; community awards presented

During the citizens report period, Jason Taylor of 7702 Natchez St. told council members about traffic problems exiting the McDonald's on 79th Street and drivers failing to stop at 78th and Meade. "Mr. Taylor stated a concern about traffic leaving the McDonalds on 79th Street. Mr. Taylor also stated that several people are failing to stop at the intersection of 78th and Meade," the transcript records. Police Chief Garcia said he will address the issue, and the mayor said the city is addressing businesses not clearing sidewalks.
Separately, the mayor and Clerk Jason Pyle presented the 2026–2027 City Sticker Contest winner with a certificate and the Lyons Club of Burbank presented its Firefighter of the Year 2026 award to Michael Huedepohl; Fire Chief Kreil read a biography. These community recognitions were presented during the meeting’s citizen-report and awards portions and did not require council votes.
