Interim Superintendent Gwen Gilliam told trustees the recommended calendar "was the one out of five that was most favorable by the faculty due to the inservice days being spread out throughout the year, and enough minutes are built in to cover a day if needed." Nathan Bishop moved to adopt the calendar; Iris Hammontree seconded and the motion passed unanimously with all members present.
The board recorded that the chosen calendar spreads professional development (in‑service) days across the school year and includes built‑in instructional minutes intended to accommodate an unscheduled closure without extending the school year. No additional implementation steps or budget changes were recorded in the minutes.
