Commission OKs budget amendment to carry forward prior-year projects

On first reading Jan. 9, 2025, the Winter Garden City Commission approved Ordinance 25-03, which amends the fiscal year 2024–2025 budget to carry forward prior-year appropriations for projects not completed by the end of the prior fiscal year.
Finance Director Zielonka explained that the ordinance aligns revenues and matching expenditures and pointed commissioners to Exhibit 1 for the list of projects recommended by staff. Mayor John Rees opened and closed the public hearing with no speakers. Commissioner Lisa L. Bennett moved to approve the ordinance for second reading; Commissioner Chloe Johnson seconded, and the motion carried unanimously 5-0. The second reading and public hearing were scheduled for Jan. 23, 2025.
