The Long Grove Village Board voted to extend preliminary Planned Unit Development (PUD) approvals for a lot at 4542 Kimberly Court in White Oak Estates after discussion about wetlands and drainage studies tied to the expired preliminary approvals. Trustees and HOA representatives said they want any final approval to be substantially similar to the prior preliminary approval and recommended a new wetland study because the existing study had expired.
Trustee (speaker 11) moved to approve an ordinance identified in the discussion as extending the preliminary PUD approval ("ordinance 2024-0-15") and said the extension would be for two years with suggested edits to allow a successor owner to provide required wetland studies. "I'll just go ahead and, move to approve, the ordinance, with the extension to ordinance 20 24 dash 0 dash 15 related to the preliminary planned unit in White Oaks Estate Subdivision previously approved on 08/13/2024," the trustee said. The motion was seconded, a roll-call vote recorded multiple "Aye" responses, and the motion carried.
Board members and staff emphasized that final approval would require substantial conformity to the earlier preliminary plan and that updated engineering or wetland analyses would be necessary before final sign-off. Staff recommended incorporating language allowing a successor owner to provide required studies to facilitate resale of the lot.
