Board delegates asbestos consultant selection, approves abatement contractor and wage determination
Summary

During the Feb. 9 session the board authorized the superintendent to select an asbestos consultant for elementary school work and approved the procurement/delivery method for the asbestos abatement project, delegating final procurement authority to the superintendent. Trustee Jeff Quinn moved to authorize consultant selection; Wynne Sellers seconded and the motion carried 7-0.
The board also approved the prevailing wage determination for the asbestos abatement project and approved the asbestos abatement contractor as presented; both motions passed unanimously. The board took these actions as part of the facilities agenda to prepare for abatement work at the elementary campus; the minutes record unanimous trustee approval but do not include contractor pricing or timelines.
