Board approves hires and one-year extensions after closed session; several evaluations left unchanged

Following a closed executive session at 6:34 p.m., the Winona ISD Board of Trustees reconvened and approved a slate of personnel hires and resignations. The motion to approve the new hires and resignations was made by Aaron Wilson and seconded by Dexter Jones; Diane Newman abstained from that vote due to a declared conflict of interest. The minutes record the tally as five in favor, zero against and one abstention.
The board also considered employee evaluations for multiple administrators. The minutes note no action was taken on evaluations for Mark Hageman (high school principal), Kenneth Cook (athletic director) and Heather Carnes (Federal Programs & Curriculum). One-year extensions were approved for Dee Dorsey (elementary principal), Charlissa Foster-Pinke (middle school principal), Justin Ketner (Band & Fine Arts), Kerry Jackson (Student Services) and Rodney Curry (DAEP director). The approvals were recorded as unanimous for that motion (DJ moved, SJ seconded).
