The board authorized the superintendent on Nov. 17 to negotiate the purchase of three lots on South Winkler Ave. (Wink Original Block 59, Lots 22–24) as a potential site for a Special Education/DAEP facility. Trustee Raymond Dodd moved the motion to give the superintendent negotiation authority and to use appraisers, brokers or a title company as needed; Trustee Jerome Dewberry seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
The packet notes a tentative offer of $30,000 for the property and that the district would need to tear down existing structures prior to construction. The authorization includes permission to seek assistance from licensed appraisers, brokers or title companies to obtain the best price.
