Wheaton plans additional lead service line replacements and a June 2026 water rate increase

McMillen told the Council the water rate will increase in June 2026 to align with the DuPage Water Commission; Director Lehnhardt earlier said the 5.1% water rate increase is projected to generate $800,000. The presentation clarified sampling responsibility and timing, with staff noting IEPA determines which facilities require collection samples.
