Community volunteers refurbish laptops for youth leaving custody; commissioners follow up on county donations

Keeler said an IT volunteer cleans and refurbishes devices for distribution to youth to help them pursue education and employment after release.
Keeler urged community and commissioner support while the county follows up on 12 laptops Supervisor Spears offered to provide to youth transitioning from custody. "Anybody who's getting rid of your laptops, your computers, your, your cell phones, anything, she will clean them up for us... and then gives them back to us so that we could give them to these children," Keeler said. Commissioners thanked Keeler and said staff would check with the supervisor's office and probation about the laptop allocation and distribution process.
