Christina Falaas, senior legislative aide for Supervisor Noelia Corso, told commissioners the county is tentatively scheduling a study session with the Board of Supervisors on Aug. 11 and asked how much time the commission would need. "It's most likely right now tentatively set for a specified time of 1PM," Falaas said. Commissioners discussed asking for one to three hours and recommended inviting system partners, probation staff and families to present or participate via Zoom.
Commissioners expressed concerns about reduced public-comment time and the need to accommodate families with limited English proficiency; Falaas said she would consult the county attorney and seek to allow time for translation during public comment. Commissioners also discussed whether commissioner remarks during the study session would require filling out speaker cards or follow a presentation Q&A model.
