Taft ISD board adopts TASB Local Policy Update 126 covering procedures, cybersecurity, and personnel rules

The list included BE(LOCAL) and BED(LOCAL) on board meetings and public participation; CJ(LOCAL) and CJA(LOCAL) on contracted services and background checks; CQB(LOCAL) and CQD(LOCAL) addressing cybersecurity and artificial intelligence; multiple personnel, student safety and instructional policy codes; and other local policies identified in the update. Committee member Johnny Carvajal moved the action and Committee member Nicole Garza seconded; trustees voted to adopt the update.
Because the board adopted TASB's recommended localized changes as presented, the district directed administration to implement the updated local policy language and publish the revised local policies in the district policy manual.
