Board tables open enrollment item; staff to update classroom and seat counts
Summary
Staff recommended keeping all schools open for open enrollment in 2026–27 because no school exceeded a 90% threshold, but the board tabled the formal action to allow Student Services to update seat and classroom counts from a recent boundary and feasibility study.

Student Services told the board that "all schools are below the 90% rate that would tip a school to close the open enrollment status," and recommended keeping all schools open to open enrollment for 2026–27. The staff presentation noted an exception: Timpview appeared to be over 90% based on existing data and the numbers will be double-checked.
During the business meeting the board voted to table the Open Enrollment item so Student Services can update classroom/seat counts to reflect the recent boundary and feasibility study. The board directed staff to return with revised figures and any adjustments to findings and recommendations.
