Truong demonstrated the Orange Book landing page and search interface and explained how stakeholders can download product information into spreadsheets for offline verification. "If you click on the search OrangeBook database, you'll come to this...to download the OrangeBook product information into a spreadsheet that that can be searched by additional field," Truong said, pointing users to the 'additional OrangeBook resources' area where compressed data files (product listings, patent text, exclusivity codes) are published.
Truong described the available change-logs and monthly additions/deletions files and urged users to provide specific discrepancy reports including application number, product number and the expected versus observed discrepancy. The presenter reiterated the schedule for posting changes (daily patent/new-generic postings in afternoons Eastern Time, semi-monthly maintenance updates generally on Mondays, monthly cumulative supplements near the end of the second week, and an annual edition) and encouraged proactive notifications from applicants to help keep public records accurate.
