Board approves TTESS/TPESS appraisers and four District of Innovation resolutions

The board approved the 2025–2026 TTESS and TPESS appraisers. TTESS appraisers were listed as Carrie McWhorter, Logan Rawles, Christy Oats, Charles Wright and Kathy Horner; TPESS appraisers were listed as Charles Wright and Kathy Horner. The motion (moved by Angela Perkins, seconded by Will Duggan) passed unanimously.
Separately, Superintendent Kathy Horner presented four resolutions discussed by the District of Innovation Committee on Sept. 5. The resolutions approved by the board were: (1) retain a 10-day grievance timeline, (2) retain the district instructional plan emphasizing TEKS-aligned, data-driven instruction, (3) encourage Local School Library Advisory Councils for parent and community engagement, and (4) exempt the district from a statutory acquisition-of-library-materials provision because the district has existing board-approved policies. The board approved the DOI resolutions on a unanimous vote (moved by Conda Richards, seconded by Doug Wheat).
