Council backs funding package that includes Syntex ARC transitional housing project; questions remain on unit counts and costs

Council members sought detail on per‑unit costs, how many people those units would serve, whether the project could convert to permanent rentals if future grant funding is not available, and how onsite services and 24‑hour resident monitoring would be provided. A Syntex representative said the units are designed as enduring, HUD‑qualified duplexes with supportive services provided by Syntex/partners; council directed staff to include the project in the adopted plan and pursue required agreements if HUD approves the submission.
