Killeen council approves ballot language for eight charter amendments

City staff presented eight proposed charter amendments and ran the council through each measure, from moving regular city elections to November (Proposition A) to changes affecting initiative/recall timelines (Propositions D and G) and recall grounds (Proposition F). "The 1st is Proposition A, This is moving the regular city elections to November," the presenter explained when opening the list of measures.
After brief questions from council members about definition and implementation details, Council Member Brown moved to accept the ballot language as presented; Council Member Brett Bass seconded. The motion passed unanimously, 7–0. Staff said the next step is to prepare an ordinance with the approved language and return it to the council for adoption the following week.
