Council discussed a $121,444 grant application (Resolution 43-20-26) to rebuild a borough gazebo, including replacement of concrete, shingles, railings and electrical upgrades. A councilmember asked whether the grant required a municipal match; staff said it is not a matching grant but the borough could optionally add money from the recreation trust to "sweeten the pot." "It's not matching, but sometimes we put in a little bit," the administrator said.
Council said the gazebo work would include concrete replacement, railings, built-in benches and electrical improvements. The administration indicated the application would seek the full grant amount to fund the rebuild and that the borough may consider adding trust-fund dollars if it improves the project’s competitiveness. The grant was included in the batch of consent resolutions moved for approval.
