The Granton Area School District board approved dental and vision insurance quotes for the 2026–27 school year at its May 4 special meeting. "Motion to approve the Dental and Vision quotes for the 2026-27 school year," a board member declared; the motion, made by Douglas Eichten and seconded by Jamie Elmhorst, passed by voice vote.
Health insurance renewal remains under review while the agent runs an additional month of data; administrators expect updated information by the regular board meeting to determine whether renewal rates can be reduced. Theresa Hasz said she removed herself as the account manager following the election and that "another account manager has been assigned. She will also abstain from any votes related to health insurance," a statement recorded in the meeting notes.
The board indicated the health insurance item will return at the regular meeting for additional discussion and potential action once the agent completes the data review.
