Two write-in winners accept seats on Granton board; one takes oath at meeting

Char Johnson, the district administrative assistant, explained the write-in canvass process used to fill two board seats after no candidates appeared on the ballot. She described offering the seats in order of votes received until the top vote-getters accepted.
"Since there was no one on the ballot, all write in votes were counted. The top two in number of votes received were offered the positions," Johnson said, listing Daniel Schoessow (88 votes) and Theresa Hasz (75 votes) among the top four. Theresa Hasz had previously taken her oath; Daniel Schoessow took his Oath of Office during the April 20 meeting. Both will begin their terms on April 27, 2026.
The board noted that current members would remain in office until April 27 to allow a transition. No additional action was required at the meeting beyond administering the oath to Schoessow.
