He also said that a 50-passenger bus would cost "comparable to or slightly higher than" the regular buses the district currently uses. The board discussed possible consolidation of routes; Kim Dachel asked whether some routes could be consolidated next year, and President Ted Alberson said longer routes across the large geographic district make consolidation difficult.
The vote to hire the driver was recorded in the meeting minutes and carried 6–1. The board did not take additional action on consolidation; Mr. Alberson said route length is the primary obstacle. The board did not specify any immediate change to the current routing plan.
