Board advances package of policies on first reading, postpones policy 0144.5 to October

The minutes record a separate motion by Larry Schaefer, seconded by Yee Leng Xiong, to postpone policy 0144.5 to the October meeting; that postponement passed with one vote against.
The policies listed in the agenda include items ranging from Definitions and Consent Agenda rules to student promotion, employee leave provisions, drone policy (po7440.03), and school nutrition and wellness policies (po8500–po8510). The board did not record the name of the member who voted against the postponement in the minutes; the packet indicates the board will revisit policy 0144.5 at the Oct. 22 meeting.
