The Wills Point ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Aug. 11 to call a bond election asking voters to approve a single proposition for $69,900,000 in district improvements. The motion to adopt the order calling the election was made by Trustee Ben Curtis and seconded by Trustee Jim Lamb.
The board also adopted a reimbursement resolution authorizing the district's intention to reimburse prior lawful expenditures from the proceeds of future tax‑exempt obligations. Trustee Debbie Deen moved the reimbursement resolution, which Trustee Ben Curtis seconded; the resolution passed on a unanimous vote. No specific project list beyond the bond measure amount was included in the minutes.
The board held the vote in open session after routine agenda items and an executive session earlier in the meeting. The order and the reimbursement resolution are procedural steps that allow the district to place the bond before voters and, if issued, to use bond proceeds to reimburse previously paid project expenses.
