Mentors said co‑teachers took on more classroom duties and improved pedagogical practice, while mentors reported learning from fresh methods brought by apprentices. The superintendent said the proposed change to application eligibility is intended to speed the district’s 'grow‑your‑own' pipeline and retain staff in a tight labor market.
The board did not require further action beyond approval; administrators will implement the expanded recruitment and application timeline for spring and summer outreach.
