The Flambeau School District’s Special Education Open Enrollment Report was presented and approved at the Jan. 14 board meeting.
"Mrs. Miller explained that this report shows that we are capped next year for open-enrolled special education students, with the exception of one possible early childhood opening." The board approved the report by motion (motion by Linda Zimmer, seconded by Lana Nelson; motion carried 6-0).
The minutes do not quantify the number of current open-enrolled special education students or the size of the cap; the only detail recorded is that the cap limits new open-enrollment placements for special education, aside from one potential early-childhood slot. The board did not record further direction or a plan to alter enrollment policy in open session.
