Board hears $362,004 estimate to update intercoms to meet state security requirements; vote planned tonight

Daley told the board the intercom/security work will bring those sites into compliance with recent state requirements for classroom communication and panic-device notification.
Staff estimated the intercom and security updates to cost roughly $362,004 and said the state has not provided funding for that requirement. Daley told the board the intercom upgrade does not include the panic buttons themselves, which the district is still waiting for from the state; the district must update systems for compatibility in the meantime. The board was told these purchases will be brought to a vote at the business meeting that evening.
