The City Council voted on Jan. 27 to adopt on first reading Ordinance No. 6246, a redevelopment plan for the former Phelps Dodge site located at 701–733 South Front Street and 713–743 Amboy Avenue. The measure passed on first reading with an affirmative 6-0 roll-call vote and was scheduled for public hearings and further consideration on Feb. 10, 2026, in City Council Chambers.
