Dr. Holt said the district is working on new batting cages and exploring options to illuminate the baseball and softball fields; "Putting lights up for those fields will cost approximately $1 million," he said, and he will explore donor support for that work. He also reported rising special-education costs as enrollment of students with special needs increases; the Military Co-op had one student last year and seven this year.
The board did not vote on facilities funding at this meeting; Dr. Holt's remarks were presented as an update and a request to investigate funding options.
