District maintenance supervisor Ruben Armendariz told trustees the district purchased 26 air‑conditioning units for Presidio Elementary in August and will replace units in the 'L' building using district crews rather than a contractor. "The units cost approximately $100,000.00, which saved the district approximately $600,000.00 by purchasing and replacing the units ourselves rather than having a contractor do it," Armendariz said during the update.
Armendariz also reported that LED lighting at Presidio High School is largely installed and funded by a SECO grant (PHS was the only campus to receive that grant). The multipurpose gym now has windows installed but remains an unfinished shell; flooring and additional electrical work will proceed as district funds allow. No board action was required on the facilities update.
