The stipend was presented as a show of appreciation for staff and comes after public comment from Jocelyn Lopez, who told the board that PISD aide salaries were not keeping pace with the cost of living and requested higher salaries or larger bonuses for support staff. The board did not vote on a permanent raise at the meeting; trustees approved the one-time stipend and did not add additional compensation changes at this session.
