Presidio ISD approved a cooperative working agreement with the Tri-County Juvenile Probation Department to provide assessment and treatment services for students at risk of juvenile probation referral.
Superintendent Carmen Rubner said services could include family group meetings or individual meetings and that students would be referred for behavior, attendance or achievement concerns; the goal is early intervention before probation becomes necessary. Trustees voted unanimously to approve the cooperative agreement.
Separately, Rubner presented the Safe and Supportive School Program Team: a multidisciplinary threat-assessment and planning group that includes law enforcement, security, emergency management, counseling, special education and campus/district administration. She noted the team is a state requirement and plans will be reported to the Texas Education Agency; no formal board action was required on that informational item.
