The Presidio ISD Board of Trustees on Aug. 27 adopted the district's 2025-26 budget package and formally set the property tax rate for the coming year.
Board members approved the General Fund budget of $17,097,734, a lunchroom (cafeteria) fund of $1,283,804 and a debt-service fund of $451,725. Raquel Baeza presented the figures and noted that the budgets had been previously reviewed with trustees on Aug. 2.
The board also approved the certified taxable values for tax year 2025 as presented by Cynthia Ramirez, Presidio County Chief Appraiser: Total Market Value $422,386,240 and Total Certified Taxable Value $256,925,241. A subsequent motion to adopt the Resolution of the Board to set the tax rate passed unanimously; the board set a total rate of $0.77050 per $100 valuation comprised entirely of a $0.77050 maintenance-and-operations (M&O) component and a $0.0000 interest-and-sinking (I&S) component.
The public hearing on the proposed budget and tax rate drew no members of the public to speak. No additional board action was required for the public-hearing portion of the agenda.
What happens next: The adopted budget and tax rate will be used for the district's fiscal year 2025-26 operations and tax notices as required by state law.
