Board approves grant-support and invasive-species survey contracts; state amendment discussed

Board approved multiple contracting actions recommended by staff. Work authorization number 8 authorizes continued grant-assistance services (time-and-materials) with a not-to-exceed amount of $31,500 for DEP and FEMA grant assistance beginning Oct. 1; the motion passed by voice vote (S6). A separate state-contract amendment (reference 20n a1-3a) was reviewed with an upper reimbursement estimate of $72,068; staff cautioned the full amount may not be reimbursable and estimated at least roughly $65,000 likely recoverable (S4).
Separately, the board approved a fixed-fee contract with LG2 to survey and quantify invasive-species areas and produce GIS-coordinated square-footage estimates that can be used to prepare bid documents (S6). Members asked staff to ensure the LG2 scope excludes areas already covered by AIPCA's walkovers; staff said the survey would be adjusted and that LG2 would not charge for work on areas already completed. "They've given us a fixed-fee price to do the area, and if they don't do it, they certainly have the ability to not charge us for areas we have done," staff said. The board moved and approved the contract and authorized staff to forward the recommendation to the county commission where required.
