Judy Rose, the district's director of elementary teaching and learning, presented recommended next steps for the district's CAS program. She told the board that the initial cost to shift and reset CAS to a single satellite model is $75,000 and that moving services into individual schools would reduce ongoing costs by roughly $55,000.
"Cost for shift and reset of CAS to single satellite is $75,000. Moving into individual schools will save about $55,000," Rose said, asking the board to take a vote on the chosen approach at the next regular meeting. Board members heard the cost estimate and discussed scheduling the policy or budget vote at the upcoming meeting.
