West Oso ISD recognizes students and community partners; announces upcoming events

At the start of the Feb. 23 meeting the board recognized community partner El Vago Burger & BBQ and honored multiple student achievements: West Oso Elementary 2025 UIL award recipients, West Oso High School volleyball All-South Texas and state academic athletes, and West Oso High School football All-South Texas athletes. WOISD Oso Awesome Bear award recipients for February 2026 were also recognized. Presenters included Kimberly Moore, campus staff and coaches.
The superintendent's office also announced several upcoming events and dates on the district calendar: a Dyslexia Parent Informational Meeting on Feb. 25, 2026 (WOJH Auditorium), the West Oso ISD Education Foundation Heart of West Oso community event on Feb. 28, 2026 at Westhaven Park, Texas Public Schools Week March 2-6, 2026, WOISD Texas ACE Chili Cookoff March 4, 2026, staff development and parent-teacher conferences on March 6, and Spring Break March 9-13. The meeting adjourned at 8:29 p.m.
