Valley View ISD recognizes student readers and junior high athletic champions

At the start of its Jan. 12 meeting the Valley View ISD Board recognized students and school teams for academic and athletic achievements.
Marina Leal, Valley View South Elementary principal, recognized two AR Tiger Star Readers: Jose Andrade and Luis Andrade. Miguel Puente, principal at Wilbur E. Lucas Elementary, recognized Frida Hernandez Espino as an AR Tiger Star Reader. Federico Barroso, Valley View Junior High principal, recognized athletic accomplishments including the 7th Grade Girls A Volleyball District Championship (Coach Castaneda), 8th Grade Girls B Basketball Co-District Championship, and 8th Grade Boys Soccer District Championship (Coach Leal).
Perla Del Angel, SPED Director, presented a recognition related to the Hidalgo County Precinct 2 Strong Fit Program and highlighted Interim Superintendent Dr. Monica Luna for implementation efforts that enabled unique-ability students to participate in the program.
