Veribest ISD principal reports 266 students, testing underway and TEA curriculum errors to fix

Amber Palmer, Principal of Veribest ISD, told trustees the district is serving 266 students this year: 145 at the secondary level and 121 at the elementary level. "We are currently at 266 students: 145 Secondary and 121 Elementary," Palmer reported in the board packet.
Palmer said TPRI testing is completed and district benchmarks should be finished by Sept. 19, which will give staff a clearer picture of student needs. She also said the district has encountered multiple errors in TEA curricular materials and staff are spending time fixing those issues before instruction. "We keep plugging along, and are set for our most successful school year ever," Palmer wrote in her report.
The principal's report was filed as part of the meeting packet; trustees received the update but did not take any immediate action on curriculum or staffing in this session.
