Superintendent Amanda Traylor told the Veribest ISD Board on Sept. 15 that the district must adjust the 2025–26 calendar because the State Track Meet overlaps graduation. "State Track Meet is scheduled to occur during our graduation ceremonies, so we will be extending the school year one week, and take off 4 consecutive Mondays, beginning on April 27. Graduation will take place on May 22, 2026," Traylor said.
The calendar change shifts instructional and planning days: the district will extend the school year by one week and designate four Mondays as student holidays beginning April 27 to accommodate track participants and avoid a conflict with graduation activities. The board recorded the superintendent's recommendation in the meeting packet; no formal vote beyond the consent recorded was required at this session.
