The Van Alstyne ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously June 16 to approve an order authorizing the issuance of unlimited tax bonds to support district growth. Brian Grubbs of SAMCO Capital Markets presented the proposed bond sale process, the timeframe for a bond election, projected funds to be raised, and the general categories of planned use; Beau Williams moved to approve the bond order and Matt Morris seconded. The motion passed 6-0.
Grubbs told trustees the bond proceeds would underwrite planned capital projects associated with the district’s expanding enrollment and facilities needs. The presentation included projected funding ranges and a high-level timetable for a bond election. The vote formalizes the board’s authorization to proceed with bond-sale preparations; next steps include finalizing sale parameters and timelines with the district’s financial advisors.
