Trustee Juan Viveros moved to table items 5 (roof repair) and 6 (land cleaning). Trustee Marisol Peña asked whether bids had been requested for the roof repair; Interim Superintendent Dr. Monica Luna said the BuyBoard procurement path had been followed and "no bids were required." Board President Claudia Coronado instructed that, rather than simply tabling the roof item, it would go through bids and an architect, a process Dr. Luna said would delay work.
The board voted to approve all expenses over $10,000 except items 5 and 6 (For: 6, Against: 0, Absent: 1). The administration listed the items and presenting staff, including Aaron Larraga (HR), Dr. Nancy Montemayor (assistant superintendent), and Efrain Matamoros (Executive Director of District Operations). The motion reflected trustees' combined support for routine purchases while reserving additional review on larger capital work that some trustees said deserved a formal bid process.
