The Valley View ISD Board of Trustees on Jan. 12 approved the district's 2024—2025 Annual Financial Report after auditors from Cascos & Associates issued an unmodified opinion.
Auditor Alfred Vera presented the report and "congratulated the board members for earning an unmodified opinion, which he explained is also known as a clean opinion and it's the best opinion that an entity can receive; it's earned by the work of the finance group and administration, along with the board's oversight." Sandra C. Martinez, the district's Finance Director, introduced the audit and fielded no trustee questions.
The approval was made by motion of Board President Claudia Coronado and seconded by Marisol Peña. The vote was recorded as For: 6, Against: 0, Absent: 1. Trustees publicly congratulated Finance Director Sandra C. Martinez for her leadership in achieving the clean opinion.
The unmodified opinion indicates the auditors found the district's financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the district's financial position for the year ended 2025. The board took no additional action tied to the audit during the meeting.
