Water-line breaks, IEPA permits and sludge hauling reported to Freeburg trustees

Trustee Robert (Bob) Kaiser summarized the Public Works Committee meeting, noting water-system upgrades and administrative steps. Village Engineer Tim Pruett told the committee that TWM submitted IEPA permit applications; Public Works Director John Tolan reported THM samples were collected for February and that the lead-and-copper sample site plan was approved.
Tolan said the village experienced two breaks on the same Route 15 line and an additional break on Sunset and that the plan is to get the remaining residents off the affected Route 15 line before the end of the summer. MetroAg hauled approximately 96,000 gallons of sludge recently; Tolan also said the fire department’s ISO inspection paperwork requires additional water-system information to be completed by March 18.
