Eatontown council approves AFSCME contract and names alternate municipal prosecutors

The council approved Resolution 33, adopting a negotiated labor agreement between the borough and AFSCME, Council 73, Local #3407 for the years 2026 through 2029. Borough and labor leaders had negotiated terms with labor counsel; the mayor was authorized to execute the agreement in a form approved by counsel. Council said the contract contains salary and benefit terms for affected employees and directed the CFO to implement necessary payroll steps.
Also under the consent agenda the council appointed a list of alternate municipal prosecutors to cover conflicts or unavailability for the municipal prosecutor firm. Appointees include James Carton, Michael Lynch, Susan DeSimone, Robert Cosgrove, Robert Witek and Pasquale Menna. The appointments and contract approvals passed as part of the Jan. 14 consent motion.
