Quinlan Independent School District trustees on Sept. 15 adopted a total tax rate of $0.9064 for 2025, approving a maintenance-and-operations rate of $0.7364 and an interest-and-sinking rate of $0.17.
The tax-rate resolution was presented during Agenda Item 10. Rusty Case moved to approve the resolution and Todd Darter seconded; “The motion carried 6-0,” the record states. The vote followed a budget discussion and a related amendment to add the Tax Rate Calculation Form appendix to the 2025–26 budget.
District finance presenter Rebecca Pfeil had earlier summarized August collections and cash flow figures that provide context for the rate decision. Pfeil reported total revenues for August 2025 of $527,350.69, expenditures of $6,442,310.96, and an ending cash balance of $33,310,753.25. Taxes collected in August were $102,079.65.
Board President Kenny Stone called the meeting to order and the vote was recorded as unanimous among members present; Rick Grant was noted as absent. The board did not record additional conditions or phased implementation tied to the tax-rate adoption in the meeting minutes.
