Trustees approved Budget Amendment #4 after staff reported the district received approximately $50,000 in Chapter 313 payments not included in the adopted budget.
Ms. Moreno told the board the funds are distributed annually, and the proposed amendment allocates $30,000 for contracted services, repairs and transportation and $20,000 toward gym floor maintenance. The gym project — described as stripping, repainting and resealing the floor — was estimated to cost about $22,000 as a one‑time expense; staff said doing the work in‑house after that would save an estimated $5,000–$6,000 per year. The motion to accept the amendment, made by Trustee Tracy Hubert Beadle and seconded by Trustee Becky Gutierrez, passed with trustees voting in favor and two absences recorded.
Board members also discussed district branding while considering maintenance specifications, noting a desire to standardize on "Kelly green" for uniforms and facility elements while acknowledging potential sourcing challenges.
